On October 10, 2023, the Irvine City Council adopted a resolution to adopt the City of Irvine’s first voting district map for district elections. After an extensive public feedback and engagement process, the City Council selected Map 151. In March 2024, voters will have the chance to vote “yes” or “no” on whether the City moves to district-based elections along with an increase in City Councilmembers from four to six, while maintaining an at-large Mayor.

Below are the draft maps submitted by August 31, 2023. Click on the link for a printable version of each proposed map, including a page providing the demographic summary of each district for each map.

The most detailed way to view each draft map is by using the interactive review map. The link takes you to a website where you can view all of the maps and zoom in and out to see the map details.

Each population-balanced map contains its own proposed sequence of elections.

Focus Maps

At the fourth public hearing held on September 12, the Irvine City Council narrowed the pool of focus maps and additional map submissions to the below focus maps for consideration at the fifth public hearing on October 10. To review how the focus maps were obtained, watch the meeting recording.

The City’s demographer also created two additional maps based on feedback provided by the Irvine City Council at the public hearing held on September 12.
