Associated Students of UC Irvine Districting Testimony

Dear Irvine City Councilmembers and Staff,
My name is Zachary Griggy and I am a student at UC Irvine. I wanted to submit the official positions of the Associated Students of UC Irvine (ASUCI), which represents all 29,000 undergraduate students at the University, for your consideration.
The ASUCI Senate unanimously adopted Resolution 58-69 earlier this year and Resolution 57-03 last year to identify several communities of interest ahead of the City’s districting process, including off-campus student populations we would like included in a district with the UCI campus and several nearby neighborhoods we would prefer be represented by a separate district from students. For your convenience, I have summarized the areas identified in both resolutions here.
I hope you will consider our testimony to ensure the fair representation of our student body. We’re counting on you.
